Dear Friends
Its been long since my last post. I hope you all must have celebrated Navaratri and Duga Puja with all enthusiasm and spirit. I too had a wonderful time. Durga Puja is celebrated at Vedantic Centre, Geneva here like every year. Navaratri is a very special time for me always and the arrival of Maa Durga gives me lot of  hopes, courage  and belief to do my work with all spirit. I performed at few places on this occasion, I will post some of them soon. For the time being I am just posting a live recording of one of my song from last year.  I sang it on somebody's request. Its a very old Bengali song and I love it immensely.  My singing is not up to standard here. It could have sound much better with practice, good arrangement and proper recording. I wish you like it.

I have sung this song because I love the song immensely. However, I am nowhere closer to the original.

How are you all? I am really happy to share that your Shree is featured again in one of the US based Radio Show called Gaata Rahe Mera Dil. If you have remembered they have featured me earlier also in January 2012 when I was in India for a vacation. This time, I completely forgot to post the broadcasting details before. Ranjish hee sahi

Dear Friends

I am not blogging very frequently these days. I am busy for some coming up concerts. Hope to see you all soon in my Neuchatel concert. I couldn't record anything in between, so thought of sharing this home recording.

The other day some guests are in and wanted to hear the very  famous Ghazal by the Ghazal Maestro Mehdi Hassan Ji. While I was singing,  Akshaya recorded it using a common chat microphone. There was no music, but yes lot of noise including the the door banging:)

I wish, the coming up concert will go well. Lets see!

Uploading an original song I recently sang.The song is composed by a very very talented and immensely creative composer Mr Swamy Kitcha. I personally know him since my last original song Man Mere with him. As a composer, he is one of the best to work with. Very particular and clear about what he wants and at the same time giving maximum freedom to a singer for his/her artistic exploration. It was really pleasure to work with him.

It is really great that Kitcha  got Mr Adwait Ranade for writing such soul stirring lyrics which gave life to sucha brilliant composition by Kitcha. 

And to conclude with I am more than happy to sing this one with a very versatile and one of my favorite singer Mr Shreedhar Ganapathy who again I know due to my previous artistic collaboration with him. 

This is such a fantastic team to work with. Glad to be a part of the team.

Sharing with all of you a live recording of one of my performance. A musical night was organised by Indian Association, Geneva to celebrate Holi, the festival of colors on 17th of march 2012. The programme really turned out to be a memorable night for me. I sang the classic song  'Tu Chanda Mein Chandini' from the 1971 movie 'Reshma Aur Shera' along with some other songs. I am so happy to get this video from one of my friend if not all of my videos of the night. I would like to thank each and everybody behind the success of this show. Thank you for the lovely audience also. I wish all of you who were not present there will also enjoy this performance. All feedback are most welcome.

Meera Bhajans are always special to me. I get immense pleasure & peace while singing them. 

This is a very casual recording during a family friend's visit to my house with a common chat microphone. Both Uncle & Aunty are fond of music & wanted to listen something. So, I sang this one with my Tanpura. I must share something unique about them, each time I sing including at their house, they record it. In fact they might have my practice session recording also. The original song by Lataji is just breath taking. I really wish I can ever sing like her.

I am so happy to share with all of you 'Man Mere', an original composition from a very talented composer Mr Swamy Kitcha. This is my very first collaboration with Kitcha.

It was really nice of Kitcha that he wanted my vocal for his new composition and when I heard the track, I instantly fell in love with the song. Kitcha had the exact thoughts for the lyrics also and thank god he requested Mr Adwait Ranade (Maharashtra, India) for the Lyrics in Hindi. Adwait came up with really beautiful and meaningful lyrics in a matter of one day.

For me, the song is very very special due to the sheer innocence and melody it possess. The words are absolutely heart touching and carries great meaning. I am loving it. I really wish you all like it. Its been a lovely working with this brilliant team. 

A big thank you to Kitcha  for composing this song for me and Adwait for the lovely lyrics.

This is my first collaboration with Bijayashree Samal (Singer) and Adwait Ranade (Lyricist)

Theme: The brief given to Adwait for the lyrics was : “In a competitive/material world, we forget to embrace the beauty of life. The song should emphasize the inner beauty of life(love, nature, passion etc.,) than the outer beauty (materialistic, running behind success etc.,) that’s more cared about these days”.

Adwait has written some brilliant lyrics (I don’t know hindi but I’ve the translation :-)) in a matter of single day. Thanks a lot Adwait. Glad you were part of the team. Hoping for more collabs with you :).

Here is the very first upload of the year. I know this is little late, but can't help it though since I was on India trip & lot of stuffs had to be done during the short stay. I know you will understand.  

Coming back to the song 'Dil Hum Hum Kare', it is gem of a composition by the legendary musician & singer late Dr Bhupen Hazarika ji for the highly acclaimed film Rudaali (female weeper or weeping woman. The picture was released in 1993 & directed by the feminist Indian director Kalpana Lajmi. I love this song & it is one my all time favorite song of Lataji. I would love to hear any feed back from all of you. Enjoy!!

Hi Friends

I am in India to attend some pre-scheduled programmes. I am really happy that this time I could record some songs for All India Radio. Usually I miss the entire year's recordings due to my stay here in Geneva.

The three bhajans are broadcasted on Wednesday 25th of January 2012 at 12.30pm.

Yes one more thing, you can hear all AIR programmes through your Television also.

For example, all Dish TV users can hear AIR Oriya at channel number 3540.

I believe this year is quite a good year to start with recording some bhajans.What better way is there to begin the new year other than the God's name.
